Not sure how it’s taken us so long, but we finally Not sure how it’s taken us so long, but we finally made it to @monk_park_farm and can honestly say it’s a lovely family day out from York. If your family loves cute creatures with a helping of indoor and outdoor play, it’s just the place. We love how self-contained and easy to navigate it is - it’s a great size for little legs and tired grown ups. There are various food options (and places to picnic too), and plenty of things to do. Added bonus - it’s at the gateway to the gorgeous @northyorkmoors, if you fancy making a longer trip of it.

Not only that, but Paddington has moved from his original bench in Dean’s Park (next to @yorkminsterofficial) to one that’s closer to the main entrance, making him easier to find (and hug). Led by a brilliant tour guide, we travelled back in time and discovered how York became the chocolate capital of the UK, from Rowntree’s to Terry’s and beyond. With Easter facts dotted throughout, plenty of treats to sample and a live demo from a real chocolatier, it’s a brilliant activity out for families. There was even a little chocolate rainstorm! We topped our tour off with the truffle rolling workshop (an added extra), which was messy, delicious and good fun. One to add to your Easter plans! 🍫🍬 #york #easter #chocolate #yorkschocolatestory

If you’ve not been following it, he’s cycling 1000km for @bbcradio1’s Longest Ride, raising money for @comicrelief. Somehow Greg managed to look as fresh as a slightly sweaty daisy, and had so much time to chat to the people who’d shown up to cheer him on. What a lovely guy. This was a magical little trip (and not just becau This was a magical little trip (and not just because spring was very much in the air). We’ve been meaning to visit Haworth for ages and finally made it there this weekend. Honestly, it’s gorgeous and well worth the drive (it’s the distance that had been putting us off). It’s brimming with independent shops and great places to eat, and the welcome was incredibly warm for somewhere that must get a LOT of Wuthering Heights tourists! It’s famous for the Bronte connection, but well worth a visit in its own right. Our girls have been interested in the Brontë sisters ever since we gave them a children’s book about their lives (you’ll find it on the last slide if you’re interested), so walking through the house where Charlotte, Emily and Anne actually lived and wrote felt really special. A few tips if you’re visiting with kids:
 • If they’re old enough, tell them a bit about the sisters before you go - they’re inspirational
• Leave the buggy if you have a little one. The cobbles are steep and uneven, so a baby carrier is much easier.
• Try to avoid peak times as the main street gets busy.
• Book lunch and the Brontë Parsonage Museum in advance if you can.
• If you have time, head out to the countryside for a short walk. The views are stunning. A 10/10 day out 📚
