Not only do they add colour and cuteness to the city, but you’ll find them in quieter corners where there’s seating - ideal if you need a breather while you’re exploring. As big fans of Greek food, we’ve been meaning to try @inos.york for a while, but somehow time has run away with us. We finally made it there this evening and it was lovely and worth the wait: relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food (some of which we’ll be eating for lunch tomorrow - when will we learn not to over-order?!). We’ve been on blossom watch for a while, so it was a lovely surprise to walk around the corner at Victoria Bar and see the street lined with fluffy pink trees today. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and really worth a little walk to see. There’s a small play area, too, and lots of family-friendly cafes near by. If you can’t get there, the tree by Skeldergate Bridge is a beauty, too. Despite the temperature, spring does seem to be on the way 🤞🌸

It’s spacious but cosy, welcoming and relaxed, and the perfect place for a little celebration drink this evening 🤫. They serve food (@radpizzashop and @dirtyolivefood) on selected days too. Highly recommended 🍻

Not sure how it’s taken us so long, but we finally

Not sure how it’s taken us so long, but we finally made it to @monk_park_farm and can honestly say it’s a lovely family day out from York. If your family loves cute creatures with a helping of indoor and outdoor play, it’s just the place. We love how self-contained and easy to navigate it is - it’s a great size for little legs and tired grown ups. There are various food options (and places to picnic too), and plenty of things to do. Added bonus - it’s at the gateway to the gorgeous @northyorkmoors, if you fancy making a longer trip of it.

Not only that, but Paddington has moved from his original bench in Dean’s Park (next to @yorkminsterofficial) to one that’s closer to the main entrance, making him easier to find (and hug). Seek him out during park opening hours and see if he’s finished that marmalade sandwich yet…

What a sweet Easter experience! We took the kids to York’s Chocolate Story and it was so good. Led by a brilliant tour guide, we travelled back in time and discovered how York became the chocolate capital of the UK, from Rowntree’s to Terry’s and beyond. With Easter facts dotted throughout, plenty of treats to sample and a live demo from a real chocolatier, it’s a brilliant activity out for families. There was even a little chocolate rainstorm! We topped our tour off with the truffle rolling workshop (an added extra), which was messy, delicious and good fun. One to add to your Easter plans! 🍫🍬
